Since 2006, the Maryland Hispanic Workforce Council has developed and managed many conferences, job fairs, expos and workshops. Topics center on assisting employers with their hiring needs and helping underserved communities with workforce and training opportunities. The conferences provide opportunities to discuss topics currently affecting the Hispanic and immigrant communities in the labor market. These discussions bring to the table the opportunity to have participants from various sectors, consolidating themes, and featuring speakers that benefit our community. Each conference covers a topic related to current events affecting underserved communities.
The Maryland Hispanic Workforce Council helps to empower employers to better understand, gain insights and handle workforce issues affecting Latinos and other immigrant communities. Events focus on recruitment, immigration, documentation, job search, vacancies, skills and career training, English as a Second Language, higher education, and scholarships.
The Job Fairs are designed to allow organizations to have dedicated time to meet job seekers applicants and to improve diversity among its employees.
